Travel Diaries | St. Thomas U.S.V.I

Happy New Year!

In case you have not checked my latest Insta posts, I was blessed enough to end 2016 and start 2017 in sunny St. Thomas! I could not wait to get back to the A and share my pictures with you all and the best places to visit while in St. Thomas!

Unfortunately or fortunately (however you want to see it) I can not speak to my stays at any of the resorts since my Aunt lives in St. Thomas so I had the pleasure of staying with her. I've posted a view from her backyard as well. It's quite the view!
Check out my top places to see while in St. Thomas!

The view from my Aunt's balcony

Places to check out

Jost Van Dyke & Virgin Gorda Beach located in the British Virgin Islands (Don't forget your passport! You're required to stop at customs in St. John). We took a ferry from St. Thomas to The Baths at the Virgin Gorda. We rented out a boat the next day to go to Jost Van Dyke. The more I say about the views the less it seems. These are places that must be seen in person. The water was crystal clear and you can see the fish swimming all around you!

Morning Star Beach
This beach is located right behind Frenchman's Reef & Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort. This beach did not have much to do which is why we chose to visit this beach on the day we landed. Keep in mind, since it is located on Marriott's property, you'll run into plenty of tourists here making it rather public instead of a quiet, hidden beach.

Magen's Bay Beach
Magen's Bay is much more tourist filled, high traffic beach where you have to pay to enter. Be sure to bring some cash as many restaurants on the beaches did not accept cards. Once you leave Magen's Bay Beach, be sure to check out Udder Delite Shakes. I will say the place looks really run down but it has some of the best shakes and ice cream you'll have on the Island! (Cash Only here)

Water Island - Honeymoon Beach

Once again we had to take a 10-minute ferry ride from within St. Thomas over to Water Island. In case you miss your ferry like we did, stop by Scoops and Brews Ice Cream! So delish! Once on the beach, you'll be able to grab some free lounge chairs and enjoy the crystal clear waters and watch the fish swim around you! You also have the option to either Jet Ski or Fly board. The prices were a bit too expensive for the amount of time given but since I've already jet skied before, I opted to just hang with the fish!

Frenchman's Reef & Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort

Fortunately for me, my family member is a Marriott Rewards member so we were able to use their stunning pool area and if you can, I would highly recommend this beautiful hidden gem that has a swim up bar and two infinity pools so you get to witness a 360° view of the North Atlantic Ocean. Check out some of the pictures below!

I hope this helps you all when planning your next trip! St. Thomas is a gem of a place and when you mix that with the local culture, food, clear beaches, and views, you can't really top that! I'm looking forward to going back soon but until then, I'll be prepping for my next trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico!
